Friday Sundae – Imperial War Museum Holocaust Memorial
Friday Sundae Studio approached Central Scanning with the requirement to 3D scan selected items from Imperial War Museum’s Holocaust collection. This kind of culturally significant items required a sensitive approach and reliable scanning equipment to accurately capture the scan with minimal invasive interference of these delicate items.
The high-resolution scans were then used on a tablet-based learning app for high school students to interact with the scans where they could not interact with the real objects.
The high fidelity of the Artec Space Spider allowed them to capture detail and nuance of these objects, bringing students closer to the objects and stories of the Holocaust collection.

Central Scanning managed the hire of our Artec 3D scanner throughout and was communicative, flexible and supportive of our project. They provided all the training and equipment needed and this allowed us over several days to work with Imperial War Museum’s curators to carry out this essential archival work.
